Dr. Uddin Named NCMARC Director

Dr. Mesbah Uddin of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science has been named the new director of UNC Charlotte’s North Carolina Motorsports and Automotive Research Center.

Lee College of Engineering Dean Bob Johnson made the announcement, saying – “Dr. Ahmed Soliman is stepping down as Director of NCMARC, and I would like to thank him for his service to the college in this capacity. NCMARC has enjoyed some excellent visibility under his leadership, and we will soon be moving into the new Motorsports Research facility on CRI. Dr. Soliman was instrumental in planning the design of this facility and it will give NCMARC and the college some much-needed additional research and office space. Please join me in thanking Dr. Soliman for his contribution.

I am pleased to have Dr. Uddin serving in this capacity, and he has excellent plans for the future of NCMARC that you will be hearing more about from him. Dr. Uddin has a very successful research program in vehicle aerodynamics, and he has worked with a number of racing organizations and OEMs. The college welcomes Dr. Uddin to his new role.”
