Install and Configure NX Client

Download and install NX Client from their website that is appropriate for your local computer.

(Please note that there is a known issue with NX Client and Mac OS X Lion.  No Machine is currently working on a stable relase.  Until then, users can download a prerelease client from no machine.  PCS has tested the Prerelease client and it works well.)

Run the Connection Wizard by double-clicking its icon on the desktop or from the start menu.

NX1

Enter "lxs.uncc.edu" in the session field and "lxs.uncc.edu" in the host field. Use the slider at the bottom to select the speed of your Internet connection. ADSL and Cable Internet are synonymous in this context.

NX2

Select "Unix" for the first drop-down box. Select "GNOME" for the second drop-down box. Users who wish to use the KDE desktop should select "KDE" instead of Gnome. Select the size of the window that you wish to use for the remote session. Click Next.

NX3

Now click "Finish".

NX4

Double-click the desktop icon for "lxs.uncc.edu".

NX5

Enter you mosaic username and password, then click the "Login" button.
