2009 Senior Design Expo and Projects

"Most Entertaining" IEEE Robot

Sweeping up cans and bottles with its long arms, the Lee College of Engineering’s’ IEEE robot team took ninth place out of 42 teams at the Southeastern Conference competition in 2009. Know affectionately as “Wakka” by the team, the robot’s rocking jumping movement also won it the “Most Entertaining” award, as team member Richard Blackmon explains.

The Lee College of Engineering dedicated a new water tunnel on May 29. Under construction for more than a year, the tunnel holds thousands of gallons of water and took more than 5,000 man hours to build.

Supply Chain Game

Purchasing agents put in the orders, suppliers provided the parts, manufacturers built the products, salesmen took the orders, truckers shipped the products, and through it all students learned to optimize supply chains. The Systems Engineering and Engineering Management students were playing a game called "TimeWise Lean Supply Chain Simulation."
