Status: decommissioned
Mission: 2010 MATE Remotely Operated Vehicle Competition, explore a simulated Loihi seamount region by deploying instruments, taking sensor readings, plotting data, and collecting samples of geologic features and organisms that inhabit the volcano’s surroundings.
Constraints: Teams must be able to personally transport the vehicle and associated equipment to
the control shack and the vehicle must be launched and recovered manually.
Results: 11th out of 27 teams.
