Engineering freshmen (not engineering technology) complete a common core of classes:
- English I and II
- Calculus I and II
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Introduction to Engineering I and II
This common core gives students time to explore the various engineering disciplines to select or confirm their major. New freshman are put into block schedules during Student Registration and Orientation (SOAR) so they can take calculus, chemistry and Introduction to Engineering with the same group of 10-15 students.
